The City of Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and one of the largest economic and educational centers in the UK. The city name, in accordance with the most common version, comes from the name of fortress Din Eidyn. City of Edinburgh is located in the temperate maritime climate zone which is characterized by fairly warm winters and not hot summers, a distinctive feature of the weather in Edinburgh are frequent heavy rains. The leading sectors of Edinburgh's economy are tourism, financial services, high-tech sector as well as brewing. Each year, Edinburgh is visited by 13 million tourists, the most popular tourist season lasts from the beginning of August to September when numerous festivals are held in Edinburgh, the most popular of which is the Edinburgh International Festival. There are four universities in Edinburg: University of Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh Napier University and Queen Margaret University.
